Pumpkin Patch Tours at Family Farm B&B

  • Oct 3 - 11, 2020

  • Family Farm B&B
2590 Oxford Rd, Powell River, British Columbia

Description

Join us for a fun fall tour at Family Farm Bed and Breakfast. Meet ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys, pigs, and cows. Pet some chicks and goats, and watch a cider pressing demonstration (enjoy a free sample of fresh pressed apple cider). Finally, at the end of the tour, hunt for a pumpkin in our pesticide-free patch. Pumpkins will be labelled with a price according to size.

Covid-19 precautions will include physical distancing of 2 metres between groups, frequent handwashing (handwashing stations and hand sanitizer will be provided), and masks must be worn (if possible) by guests when petting the goats or the chicks, although they aren't required in the actual pumpkin patch as long as physical distancing rules are being observed between groups. Masks will be worn by farmers. Please note, we are limited capacity due to Covid-19 precautions. Access to the pumpkin patch will be limited to paid tours only.  Tours will run hourly, and tickets will be pre-sold online.

It has always been Eric and Jessie's dream to have a hobby farm.  He wanted to raise animals and make cheese, and she wanted to make use of her horticultural training.  While raising ten kids, they purchased a parcel of land south of Powell River in 2004 and designed and built their "Green Gambrels" house.  Now that the kids are all grown they'd like to share the family farm experience with other families and guests.

Their daughter, Ginny, and her husband, Nat, moved to the farm to help with the bed and breakfast, and to care for the animals and grounds.

There are nearby beaches, fishing, canoeing routes, craft markets, and local festivals.  Powell River has live music venues, great restaurants, and even a famous craft brewery situated in a historical Townsite.
